TO KEEP ABREAST OF THE LATEST PUBLICATIONS AND PROGRAMS OR TO ORDER BOOKS FOR YOUR LOCAL 3RD GRADERS, CHECK BACK AT THE DICTIONARY PROJECT SITE OFTEN.
The goal of this program is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionary. The dictionaries are a gift to each student to use at school and at home for years to come. Educators see third grade as the dividing line between learning to read and reading to learn, so we encourage our sponsors to give dictionaries each year to children in the third grade.
With the support of local sponsors and volunteers, we want to provide a dictionary to every student in the United States. In this way we hope to help them to improve their communication skills and make the most of their education. Many of our sponsors are also taking the Dictionary Project beyond the United States, to help improve literacy worldwide.
The Michigan District is excited to host the first Kiwanis Fall Community Engagement Summit! This summit is a day designed to spark ideas, share best practices, and strengthen the ways we serve our communities. It is an opportunity to connect with and learn from fellow community organizations such as MSUFCU Desk Drawer Foundation, Saddleback BBQ, MSU Nonprofit Leadership & Global Cultures Program, and Ray Media Creative to name a few!
We’ll be bringing together community leaders, partners, and fellow Kiwanians to explore what meaningful engagement looks like today—both inside and outside our clubs. You’ll leave with practical tools, new connections, and fresh inspiration to take back home.
We encourage you and your members to attend this exciting and inspiring event! Tickets are on sale now for $65. Reserve your seat by this Monday, November 17 and save $25 on the registration fee!
