Welcome to the Mighty Michigan District, the birthplace of Kiwanis. Since January 1915, we have been serving the children and communities of Michigan. We are a diverse mix of ages, genders, occupations, backgrounds and interests, all working together to make the world a better place for children so they can thrive. Whether we are working on one of our many service projects to fill the unique needs of our local cities and towns or putting the “fun” in fundraising, we are always building a community of service that will have an enduring impact as we support our future leaders.
What is Kiwanis?
We are actually a family of service organizations. Led by our adult Kiwanis clubs, we support high school students in service through Key Clubs, junior high students with Builders Clubs, elementary kids through K-Kids, our collegiate leaders through CKI, and adults with disabilities with Aktion Clubs. Through this family of service organizations, we are able to bring every generation together to make the world a better place and ensure that today’s children will grow up to be tomorrow’s service leaders.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
We are celebrating the final 24 days of 2024 with 24 reasons to belong to Kiwanis.
REASON 7 - Continual widening of perspectives Some may call it continuing education, but Kiwanis club meetings often keep members informed about what is going on in their respective communities, nations and the world-at-large. Many meetings showcase knowledgeable speakers and timely topics. And most clubs schedule interclub opportunities in person or via the internet, so you can get to know like-minded friends all over the place and be inspired by their service ideas!
